Ferrari 612 Scaglietti test-mule
Psst. Hey. Would you happen to be in the market for a new grand-tourer? Maybe a nice foreign model in the V12 range--something that can kick out 500+ horsies to get you up the Alps and into the lobby of the Gstaad Grand Palace in sleek style? Well, you're in luck: the folks at Motor Authority have caught a glimpse of the newest iteration of the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, and she's kind of a humdinger.
TCC staffers are 50/50 on whether this is a completely new model or whether it's a redesign of the existing 612. The profile is similar enough, that's for sure, but then we saw the curious hood line, and we started to second guess ourselves.
Rumor has it that its fuel economy will bump up to nearly 20mpg (instead of the 11.5 it gets now). That's nothing compared to a Prius, of course, but then, people who summer in Gstaad probably aren't "Prius people". We hope they're patient people, though, since this baby isn't set to hit dealerships until late 2011. Life's rough, right?
