Terrafugia Transition in transit

  • Movie memories -- The bad news: Animal House is over 30 years old, which means we're even older. The good news: we can now buy a cherished memento from America's fave frat house film, because the Deathmobile is for sale--on Craigslist. Yeah, it could've gone the upscale Barrett-Jackson route, but Belushi would've wanted it this way. [Craigslist via AutoMotto]
  • Brits go belly-up -- Like its rabble-rousing cousin, the Sexy Green Car Show, the 2010 British International Motor Show has been canceled. We'll give you three guesses as to why. Americans, have a dab of Marmite and toast in honor of your fallen gearhead brethren. [Autocar]
  • Pigs are flying -- In what is sure to be a TCC first--and last--we have to admit we were wr...wr...overly pessimistic about the world's first flying car, the Terrafugia Transition. Seems that the damn thing can fly after all. So now we get to worry about tailgaters and that nutjob dusting our satellite dish. Neat. [MotorAuthority]
  • Ride the magic bus -- In other news of vehicles going where they shouldn't, Amphicoach has launched--can you guess?--an amphibious bus. It's big and yellow, and it's made in Malta: all factors that intrigue us more than actually crossing the Veneto in one. [WorldCarFans]
  • Are you Penny Pennzoil? -- The Drake Well Museum in Titusville, PA is throwing a party to celebrate America's 150 years in the oil industry. As part of the hoopla, they're tracking down models who portrayed Penny Pennzoil, the spokesmodel for several popular Pennzoil campaigns that ran in the early 1960s. Organizers seem to think there are at least five women who had the gig. They've found one in Florida (surprise), but they're trying to dig up others (not literally). We wish the museum the best of luck--though we hope they're not planning any celebratory oil wrestling for poor Penny. [DetNews]
