Remember when we told you a few months ago that Kia would soon be unveiling its new Forte model (née Spectra)? Well, soon is now: TheCarConnection has learned that Kia will bring the sophisticated-looking 2010 Kia Forte--which has been on sale elsewhere in the world since last summer--to next week's Chicago Auto Show.
Rumors continue to swirl that the Forte will be the first vehicle built at Kia's new plant in Georgia--despite the company's general insistence that the Sorento is first in line. Assuming the price point of the Forte is similar to that of the Spectra (currently starting around $14,000 vs. the Sorento's $22,165), and assuming that fuel economy and other factors will continue to suppress SUV sales, letting the Forte leapfrog to the front could be a pretty smart idea.
