2009 Kia Sportage Spy Shot

Kia is set to butch up the little Sportage crossover with new front- and rear-end treatments and some new interior gadgets, TheCarConnection.com's spies are reporting today from the shady environs of Death Valley.

The 2009 Sportage's front-end look--from behind the camouflage--is sportier and more angular than the current model. Interior upgrades are also in the works, including new USB and auxiliary connectivity for iPods and similar MP3 devices--probably cribbed from the least disguised Soul prototype we've seen yet (in the background, offering a nice white reflector for "fill" lighting.)

The revamped Sportage is expected to make its debut later this month, when most of the world has mentally checked out for summer vacation.--KGP Photography
