You completely know about the new 2009 Audi A4--we know, because we told you all about it during last year’s Frankfurt auto show. But Audi of America isn’t quite ready to sell the new four-door, and while it bides its time, it’s prepped a special edition of the current A4.
To clear the A4 decks before the ’09 model arrives, Audi’s outfitting the '08 A4 Special Edition with some cosmetic upgrades--notably, the S-line fascias, grille, and side flares, which give the car a slightly tougher demeanor.
In either wagon or sedan variants, the new Special Edition gets Audi’s direct-injection turbocharged 2.0-liter four. Quattro all-wheel drive is available on the new version, and a specially designed 17-inch wheel is standard.
All Special Editions get a one-year Sirius subscription as standard, while quattro versions also get heated leather front seats and metallic paint. Options include a navigation system, Bluetooth, an iPod controller, and wood trim.
Sales of the new Special Edition are to begin by the middle of March. Keep your browser pointed here this year for our first full road test of the new A4, too?
