The other day we reported that Cadillac’s CTS received the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s Top Safety Pick Award. Today, probably in a fit of jealous pique, Infiniti said basically the same thing about its new EX crossover.
The first Infiniti ever to win such an award from the IIHS, an insurance industry-funded research group, the EX got the award for having superior crash-test ratings in front, side and rear collisions, as well as for having standard stability control.
This year, some 34 vehicles qualified as Top Safety Picks, as stability control has become standard in more new vehicles. Last year was the first year that the Institute has required its winners to have the feature standard.
