Officer, The Unicorn Made Me Do It

March 14, 2007

Montana driver Phillip C. Holliday Jr. must believe in magical animals—otherwise his drunk-driving charge will stick for sure.

The Associated Press reports that Holliday’s recent collision with a light post near Billings, Montana, has been blamed on a unicorn behind the wheel.

Holliday insisted to police, the AP reports, that the March 7 accident that ended in his truck crashing into a light post happened when a unicorn was driving. Holliday has pleaded not guilty to criminal endangerment and drunken driving.

Police reports indicate a red pickup went through a red light and nearly struck another truck before plowing into a light pole. No statements from unicorns were taken at the scene.

Holliday has five prior citations for drunk driving, by the way.
