We’ve all done something silly to get out of paying a traffic ticket—like telling the court it was our evil twin using the car, for example. In Iowa, one woman apparently got deadly serious about her tickets, faking her death to avoid paying a string of citations. Des Moines’ KCCI.com reports that Kimberly Du, 36, faked her own obituary by cloning a page from the Des Moines Register’s Web site, filled her name in an obituary and forged her mother’s signature on a letter to a Polk County judge confirming she was “dead” from a car accident. Her alibi fell apart when she was pulled over for another traffic ticket in January, more than a month after her demise.
