A call for help!

September 2, 2005
As I sit in the lounge at London's Gatwick Airport, watching the endless stream of news from New Orleans and the rest of the Gulf Coast, I can't block some other images -- and feelings -- out of my mind. Almost exactly four years ago, I sat stranded at the airport in Frankfurt, Germany, watching the rescue efforts in New York City after the assault on the World Trade Center. Few things are more painful and frustrating than watching helplessly in such times of need, and I'm sure many of you readers understand exactly what I mean.

There is a way to help, of course, even if it is just by sending cash to those in a better position to do the necessary "dirty work." With dozens, if not hundreds, of charities out there, where do you go? I've been impressed by the efforts of the Network for Good, which links to a score of helping organizations. This is non-denominational, with no political bias, either. As part of a web-wide effort, BlogBurst, I hope you will take a moment to give some help, however much you can, by clicking on this link. If you need to, paste the following into your browser: http://www.networkforgood.org/topics/animal_environ/hurricanes/ .

You may be far removed from the devastation caused by Katrina, but I hope you all will find it in your heart to help! Thank you. TCC Team, Publisher, TheCarConnection.com, ElCarroConexion.com
