The new Maserati GranTurismo made its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show, peering out from behind the unwelcoming walls of the Maserati stand, stunning show crowds with its daring shape.
Styled by Pininfarina, the car is a four-seater and will fit into the Italian firm’s range between the GranSport and the flagship Quattroporte saloon.
Under the hood is a 4.2-liter V-8 delivering 405 hp. It’s mated to automatic gearbox and equipped with an adaptive control system that adjusts the gear-shifting mode to the driving style and the road conditions. Near-perfect 50/50 weight distribution is said by the company to offer an excellent driving experience.
Maserati’s tradition of GTs dates back to 1947 when, at the same Swiss exhibition, bosses unveiled their first Gran Turismo, the A6. It was designed by Pinin Farina himself, and only 58 were ever built.
There's no word on pricing, nor any more mechanical details, just more photos - which you can click on the gallery link above.
