6/22 Dodge/Save Mart 350, Infineon Raceway, Sonoma, CA (1.949-Mi. Road
Course; 110 Laps) Try as he did Jeff Gordon and the #24 DuPont Refinishes/ Hendrick
Motorsports Chevrolet Monte Carlo couldn't find a way around the #31 Cingular
Wireless/Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet of Robby Gordon, so Jeff was
content to finish in the top three for the second week in a row, and to knock Dale
Earnhardt, Jr. down one position from second to third in the drivers points
championship. As good as Jeff's car was in the closing laps of the race, Robby
still managed to lead all but 29 laps of the race, only his 2nd career Winston
Cup win. Points leader Matt Kenseth finished 14th, still good for a few
points, and 174 over Gordon. Third was Robby's teammate, Kevin Harvick, in the #29
GM Goodwrench/RCR Chevrolet, who felt Robby raced back to the yellow under
caution and passed him, which enabled him to start upfront after a round of pit
stops and eventually win the race. Fourth was Bill Elliott in the #9 Dodge
Dealers/Evernham Motorsports Dodge, and fifth was Ryan Newman in the #12 AllTel/

It was Paul Tracy in the #3 Player's/InDeck Forsythe Racing Lola-Ford who
dominated the race, but Adrian Fernandez in the #51 Tecate/Quaker State/Telmex
Fernandez Racing Lola who won, forcing Tracy to make a mistake and slipping by
him when he did to take the win. Behind this duo, Alex Tagliani in the #33
Johnson Controls/Rocketsports Lola-Ford, Bruno Junqueira in the #1
PacifiCare/Newman-Haas Racing Lola-Ford, and Oriol Servia in the #20 Visteon machine made up

hoped Pruett's and Said's participation in the NASCAR race would find them
unfocused in this event. Fourth went to Memo Gidley's #3 ACE Hardware Stores
