2021 Volkswagen ID.4 vs. Its Competition

2021 Volkswagen ID.4

Volkswagen wants you to see the ID.4 as an alternative to mass-market gasoline models, including the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid and Honda CR-V Hybrid, which it meets and beats on features for the money—after the assumed $7,500 federal EV tax credit.

The ID.4 has a smooth, urban style next to the more outdoorsy look of the RAV4 Hybrid.

The ID.4 shows that it can do more with space than the Honda CR-V.

The Tesla Model Y remains the one to beat in the class for range and efficiency, although its price tag is much higher.

Ford Mustang Mach-E is sporty and refined, with a quick infotainment system and premium cabin materials, but it costs several grand more.

The Chevrolet Bolt EUV is a new, stretched version of the Bolt EV that is a budget alternative to the ID.4 that offers about the same range but is a smaller vehicle inside and out.
