2016 Toyota Sequoia vs. Its Competition

The Toyota Sequoia earns high marks for its interior space and towing abilities.

The Ford Expedition has been redesigned for 2015, and feels more luxurious than the Sequoia.

The Chevy Tahoe and GMC Yukon have both been redesigned as well, and offer more technology and a roomier cabin than the Toyota.

Those who want a more luxurious crossover feel may want to consider the Dodge Durango, which offers much of the industry's newest tech—as well as excellent driving dynamics and adequate towing abilities.

There's also the aging Nissan Armada, which earns the worst fuel economy numbers, but offers ample towing ability in a relatively affordable package, given the segment.

Quick Specs
The 2016 Toyota Sequoia is a big, thirsty SUV that's best for towing; it's outclassed for carrying passengers within its own family.
The 2016 Chevy Tahoe puts a modern face on the traditional truck-type SUV, and still delivers almost all the capability of a full-size pickup.
The 2016 Dodge Durango hits a sweet spot between crossovers and SUVs—if you're willing to overlook the thirst, that is.
The 2016 Ford Expedition proves there's a place in the world for old-school SUVs, especially those with turbo power, adaptive suspensions, and luxury-truck trim.
The 2016 GMC Yukon has the power and capability to haul up to nine passengers, their stuff, and the family boat.
The 2015 Nissan Armada has become one of the oldest vehicles in a segment filled with newer, more efficient, higher-tech alternatives.
