2018 Toyota Land Cruiser vs. Its Competition

If you’re going to explore the hinterlands, the 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser is arguably the best choice out there.

But don’t discount the similar Lexus LX 570, which trades some four-wheeling ability for a plusher interior and a base price that’s not much higher.

Like the Land Cruiser, the Nissan Armada is hugely popular in the Middle East, where it’s badged as the Nissan Patrol.

Shop it and its dressed-up companion, the Infiniti QX80, for sure.

The Cadillac Escalade offers surprisingly good on-road dynamics and a very classy interior that’s not as blinged-out as it once was.

And don’t forget the Land Cruiser’s long-time arch-rival, the Land Rover Range Rover.

It’s more sophisticated, as it should be at a price tag that can easily be double the Cruiser’s.

A nip and tuck for this year isn't enough to ignore the wrinkles in the aging 2018 Infiniti QX80.
