2014 Scion FR-S vs. Its Competition

2014 Scion FR-S

The Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro are classic muscle cars--or pony cars, at least.

Because of their heavier, higher-power natures, the Mustang and Camaro are very different in their driving experience, though both can be very fun and rewarding.

The Nissan 370Z blends some of the FR-S's agility with some of the muscle cars' brawn to yield an fun and unique mix that's almost more affordable grand-tourer than anything else.

Mazda's MX-5 Miata is even lighter (and less powerful) than the Scion FR-S, and while its agility and fun factor are at least as high as the Scion's, the MX-5 is showing its age, while the FR-S is the up-and-comer.

Subaru's BRZ is a twin to the FR-S, with only slight tweaks to suspension calibration and small appearance differences separating the two.

The best reason to buy a BRZ instead of an FR-S is to have factory navigation built-in.
