2018 Porsche 718 vs. Its Competition

The 2018 Porsche 718 has few rivals outside its own showroom.

In top trims, the 718’s price rivals a new 911, but we’re smitten with the 718’s performance.

It’s just that good now.

The Mercedes-Benz SLC-Class is old and may not rival the 718 in many respects, outside of performance in SLC43 AMG models.

The Audi TT isn’t the same kind of performer in most trims, but can be more comfortable for daily drives if cargo room is a must.

The Chevrolet Corvette is a jackhammer compared to the 718’s scalpel, but it’s a value supercar in top trims.

The Nissan 370Z lacks the finesse and poise of the 718, but also lacks the sky-high price tag.

Quick Specs
8.0
The 2018 Porsche 718 range adds an impressive GTS variant to an already outstanding lineup.
7.0
The 2018 Audi TT isn't a pure driver's car, but all-wheel drive, fun-to-drive dynamics, and decent fuel economy make it a practical choice for sporty fun.
7.8
The 2018 Chevrolet Corvette delivers unmatched performance for the dollar and the features to go with it; the looks are arresting but perhaps too aggressive for some tastes.
7.2
The 2017 Mercedes-Benz SLC-Class dukes it out on comfort with more sporting rivals.
6.2
The 2018 Nissan 370Z is a confident coupe or roadster with an impressive pedigree and a recognizable shape. It's comparatively aged, but an instant classic for most owners.
7.6
The 2018 Porsche 911 is a superlative sports car that has defied its age. It’s a classic, but performs better than nearly any newcomer to its arena.
