2017 Nissan Quest vs. Its Competition

2017 Nissan Quest
Aaron Cole Aaron Cole Managing Editor

The Nissan Quest doesn't fare well compared to many in its class.

The Chrysler Pacifica is all-new this year, and is very highly rated.

At about $31,000, the Pacifica is comparably equipped to a Quest SV, and the Chrysler has better ergonomics.

The stalwarts of the segment—the Sienna and Odyssey—both feature creature comforts and die-hard fans of those brands that make them very popular with owners.

We'd suggest a long look at both of those first, but know that options can add up quickly on those vans.

The Dodge Grand Caravan makes its case on value too—like the Quest—but it adds useful folding seats, which the Nissan doesn't have.

The Kia Sedona is a good pick in the class, but like the Nissan, it's also mostly an outlier.

Quick Specs
4.0
The 2017 Nissan Quest lacks features compared to most and lacks adequate safety results compared to all. Try before you buy.
8.3
The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica plays to all the traditional minivan strengths, while it strikes out in exciting new directions in styling and in plug-in hybrid technology.
5.3
The 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan has a fantastically flexible interior, but crash-test scores are a major concern.
6.5
The 2017 Kia Sedona is a viable alternative to more popular vans that can cost much more. For less than $30,000 to start, it makes a strong case based on value.
6.3
The 2017 Toyota Sienna is now more powerful, but its real strength is its capability and versatility.
8.0
The 2016 Honda Odyssey stands at the top of the minivan heap, with more design flair and more driving enjoyment than most other three-row rivals.
