2022 Nissan Leaf vs. Its Competition

Although a $35,000 Tesla Model 3 was a possibility some years ago, it’s no longer a true alternative to the Leaf as while Leaf prices have fallen Model 3 prices have skyrocketed.

The Volkswagen ID.4 is one of the latest alternatives; although initial versions cost far more, a base version costing about $36,000 is due in 2022.

The Bolt EV doesn’t look as sharp as the Leaf, although we like its practical interior.

The Kia Niro EV and Hyundai Kona Electric have more mass-market shapes and the Kia especially overdelivers on real-world range from what we’ve seen, but both are hard to find.
