2015 Mercedes-Benz CLS Class vs. Its Competition

Once alone as a four-door coupe, the Mercedes-Benz CLS Class has been joined by the likes of the Audi A7 and the BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe.

While these other German offerings muster much of the same panache and performance, the new interior for the 2015 CLS-Class is a design and materials tour de force.

The Jaguar XF is a true sedan, but sports its own seductive styling, and offers equally impressive performance in its higher-tier supercharged versions.

Cadillac’s new CTS Vsport matches the mainstream CLS in performance—or exceeds it—but again, doesn’t offer the swoopy coupe-like styling, and a new CTS-V model matching the CLS 63 AMG is still forthcoming.

Porsche’s Panamera may be the only sedan on this list that soundly outperforms the CLS-Class in handling, but it gives it right back in styling, wearing a somewhat awkward form that can’t beat the CLS’s sleek, modern lines.
