2016 Lincoln MKZ vs. Its Competition

Sedans like the Lincoln MKZ—premium, but not entirely luxury-marque luxury models—have been increasingly difficult to justify in recent years.

The Buick LaCrosse may be one of the closer entries on the market; but it doesn't quite meet the MKZ in terms of technology or fuel economy. The Volvo S60 can work if you choose the right set of options, and it's far more attractive than some of the other vehicles from Scandinavia.

The Lexus ES is anything but sporty, but it's large, comfortable, and relentlessly reliable—as well as great in resale value and fiscal factors.

The Audi A4 doesn't offer a V-6 model, but its turbo-4 is enough, and it feels lighter and more nimble than many of the cars in the segment.

The Acura TLX has been recently redesigned and its handling is winning raves.

Its advanced dual-clutch transmission's also getting noticed as it carries on the brand's tradition of packing in innovative technology into a performance-minded, comfortable package.
