2015 Lincoln MKZ vs. Its Competition

2015 Lincoln MKZ
Martin Padgett Martin Padgett Editorial Director

Many of the cars that were once in the near-luxury market have moved into the true luxury segment, leaving the MKZ with fewer and fewer real competitors.

The Lexus ES is anything but sporty, but it's large, comfortable, and relentlessly reliable.

The Audi A4 doesn't offer a V-6 model, but its turbo-four is enough, and it feels lighter and more nimble than many of the cars in the segment.

The Volvo S60 can work if you choose the right set of options, and it's far more attractive than some of the other vehicles from Scandinavia.

The Acura TLX is new this year, and its handling is winning raves, and its advanced transmissions getting noticed as it carries on the brand's tradition of packing in innovative technology into a performance-minded, comfortable package.

And, there's the Buick LaCrosse, which offers its own special take on the near-luxury market, but it doesn't quite meet the MKZ in terms of technology or fuel economy.
