2015 Lincoln MKX vs. Its Competition

2015 Lincoln MKX
Martin Padgett Martin Padgett Editorial Director

While the Lincoln MKX can't always compete on the prestige of its badge, it at least offers a competitive experience to many of its contemporaries, and in some cases it beats them on the power of its infotainment tech.

Lexus's RX practically created this segment and still rules it to this day; it has its own quirky input methods, with the console mounted Remote Touch system and its mouse-like pointing device.

The Lexus is also unique in the segment for its optional hybrid powertrain.

Volkswagen's Touareg has a simple infotainment interface, but recently added the CarNet system to its tech roster, and it's a little better able to hold its own off-road than most in this class.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee has very usable, large touch screens, as well as a choice of several powertrains; the Jeep and VW both offer diesel engines as an option.

And hen there's Volvo's very comfortable XC60, which s due for an update soon and lags behind a bit on both fuel economy and tech features.
