2017 Lexus GS vs. Its Competition

2017 Lexus GS
Kirk Bell Kirk Bell Senior Editor

The Lexus GS takes on some of the finest cars on the planet and acquits itself well.

The Mercedes-Benz E-class is new and it sets the standard for interior quality while offering a great breadth of models and body styles.

The BMW 5-Series is also brand new, and it's hard not to love BMW's turbo-6s.

While we prefer its coupe-like A7 cousin, the fine Audi A6 can be equipped with front- or all-wheel drive, a supercharged V-6, S-line sport trim, and a host of tech features.

The Cadillac CTS boasts outstanding style, excellent interior quality, and top-notch handling.

The Infiniti Q70 is an obvious alternative to the GS, with style and V-6 power, but suffers from a coarse engine note—further, in this group, the Infiniti badge may not have enough cachet for some buyers.
