With this latest redesign, the Kia Cadenza moves a bit upmarket thanks to some new features and improved materials inside.
That means it squares off well against the similarly-redesigned Buick LaCrosse.
We like the way the Buick drives more, but the Kia's interior is roomier and it's a little cheaper.
Toyota's Avalon and Chevrolet's Impala have long been default full-size sedans, but both are aging and feel a little less than fresh agains the Cadenza.
So to the Hyundai Azera, which shares its platform and powertrain with the last Cadenza.
Those looking for the sporty ride and handling that the Cadenza doesn't quite deliver may want to look at the daring Nissan Maxima.
It makes some compromises inside and isn't nearly as polished, but it is an intriguing option.
