The Tesla Model Y outshines the Jag in technology and efficiency but looks drab and austere by comparison.

Upscale, and up in size, the Tesla Model X offers seating for up to seven, and with its falcon-wing doors and Performance package, it has a different set of priorities.

The newly introduced Ford Mustang Mach-E combines muscle-car styling cues with a modern, connected interior—but it also doesn’t feel as plush as the I-Pace inside.

The Audi E-Tron might be the closest to the I-Pace in its formula—which is not to deviate too far from the look and feel of a gasoline vehicle.

Another new rival is the Volvo XC40 Recharge; as Volvo’s first fully electric model, it offers up a more subdued driving experience but more people might like its more pragmatic (and affordable) riff on upscale.
