The F-Type has revived Jaguar's true sportscar heritage.
A two-seat rear-driver, in either coupe or roadster form, the F-Type is a gorgeous piece of sculpture and a bad-ass piece of machinery.
Even Jaguar's own four-seat XK can't quite keep the pace, though it will forever be etched in our memory as one of the great grand tourers of all time.
The closest cars in concept and execution to the F-Type are Porsche's Boxster and Cayman twins--outstanding machines with a voluptuous look and impeccable handling, especially in S trim.
The BMW Z4 is close in size and mission, but doesn't have the heritage of the Jaguar roadster--and both it and the Mercedes-Benz SLK have power folding hardtops, not strictly in the traditional, classic sports-car mold, either.
