2017 INFINITI Q50 vs. Its Competition

The Infiniti Q50 attempts to attract those interested in a sport sedan from Infiniti's more established competitors.

The Q50 is gorgeous, which lends it an edge over its German rivals, though it still lacks the prestige of a BMW 3-Series or a Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

The C-Class excels for refinement, a gorgeous interior, and mini-S-Class styling.

The BMW continues to offer balanced handling and great power.

Also from Germany comes the Audi A4, which tends to attract MBAs and partner-track types.

The Lexus IS is fun to drive as well, though power isn't a match for most rivals.

The Cadillac ATS might be the Q50's closest rival, with a similar blend of design and handling, though it is a bit smaller inside than the Infiniti.

Quick Specs
The 2017 Infiniti Q50 is an attractive sport sedan with good road feel, though some rivals have sharper track moves.
The 2017 Audi A4 advances its sport-sedan credentials in lots of incremental ways, but the virtual cockpit drops the digital mic.
The 2017 BMW M3 is a track-ready sports sedan with an unblemished pedigree that announces to the world: "Ask me what DTM means."
A legitimate sports car in a sedan or coupe body, the 2017 Cadillac ATS-V rewards drivers with exceptionally polished handling and performance, making it truly in the league with Germany's best.
The 2017 Mercedes-Benz C-Class adds to the impressive roster with a convertible version this year and a newly minted AMG C43 version. Bavaria is even better now.
The 2016 Lexus IS doesn't quite hit the high-water mark set by German rivals, but it's a pleasantly capable compact luxury car.
