2017 Hyundai Tucson vs. Its Competition

2017 Hyundai Tucson
Andrew Ganz Andrew Ganz Senior Editor

This is a fiercely competitive segment and the Tucson has to bring its A-game to the table.

For the most part, its comfortable, relaxed demeanor and eye-catching style succeed.

That said, the Honda CR-V is generally a better value, while the versatile Subaru Forester and value-laden Toyota RAV4 offer more interior flexibility.

The recently refreshed Ford Escape has made big strides, and while the Mazda CX-5 is starting to feel a little dated, it remains the most fun to pilot among small crossovers.

The 2017 Hyundai Tucson doesn't live on the cutting edge, but it's an attractive, economical crossover SUV that's worth a spot on your shopping list.

The 2017 Ford Escape foregoes a bit of utility in the name of style and sportiness, making it one of the better crossovers to drive.

7.0
The 2017 Mazda CX-5 takes a lot of small steps forward, but are any of them big enough changes to sway buyers?
7.2
One of the best small SUVs, the 2017 Subaru Forester is a good value, with remarkable interior volume, thrifty fuel economy, and top safety scores.
7.3
There's a RAV4 for just about everyone, and while we applaud Toyota for adding more safety technology for 2017, the competition is worth a good look, too.
