The Honda Odyssey's biggest rival is definitely the Chrysler Pacifica, which was all-new for 2017 and brings a lot of in-cabin comfort and convenience to the ballgame.
But Honda has been a very strong player in the minivan field and the latest Odyssey continues that trend with improved dynamics and convenience features.
The Toyota Sienna and Kia Sedona are both worth a look, too, as they have their merits—but our money would be on the Chrysler or the Honda.
Then again, it might be worth turning around in the Honda showroom to check out the company's Pilot crossover.
Its interior isn't nearly as flexible, but it's available with all-wheel drive and many shoppers will prefer its SUV-ish looks.
And then there's the venerable Dodge Grand Caravan, which is about to expire but should be available with substantial discounts.
