The Insight may fight for attention with the Toyota Prius, although we appreciate how restrained the Honda is from the outside.
The Prius is a smidge quieter, according to us, but the Honda rides better and feels less top heavy.
The Hyundai Ioniq is slightly more efficient in base trim, at up to 58 mpg combined, although it doesn’t feel as solid to us.
The Kia Niro is surprisingly well-equipped in most configurations, although some buyers may be put off by the hatchback profile.
The Chevy Cruze can be just as efficient as the Insight with a gallon of fuel, although the most efficient Cruze comes with a pricey diesel engine.
