2016 GMC Yukon vs. Its Competition

2016 GMC Yukon XL
Kirk Bell Kirk Bell Senior Editor

The full-size SUV lives on, and GMC is defiantly protecting its turf with the 2016 Yukon.

Ford Motor Company offers worthy rivals in the Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator, both of which offer comparable power through a turbocharged V6 and better ride quality thanks to an independent rear suspension.

The Nissan Armada is the oldest entry in this group, with a thirsty V-8 and a smaller interior package than the domestics.

Toyota's Sequoia carries on with powertrain smoothness its prime virtue—but if you're looking to downsize slightly, the Dodge Durango may be the best alternative to these 'utes.

It's not quite as long, but tows and hauls plenty with its available V-8.
