The 2016 Ford F-250 Super Duty competes in the high-stakes, high-profit world of full-size trucks.

It's natural competitors are the 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD and GMC Sierra 2500HD, both of which have been updated more recently.

The General Motors' twins were most recently redesigned for 2015, and both sport more creature comforts beyond the current F-Series.

It's the same story for the 2016 Nissan Titan XD, which is a new entry into the full-size market.

The Nissan is more of a medium-duty truck than the F-250, and its tow rating around 10,000 pounds reflects that.

The XD doesn't claim to push, pull or drag as much as the Ford F-Series Super Duty, but it also can claim to be a little more civilized.

The 2016 Ram 2500 can go toe-to-toe with the F-250 and when equipped with a pricey 6.7-liter Cummins diesel engine, the Ram can out tow the Ford too.

We wouldn't consider the Ram to be nearly as nice inside.

At the low end in work-truck spec, the 2016 Toyota Tundra could be a competitor for some heavy duty trucks because its (aging) 5.7-liter V-8 still tows more than 10,000 pounds, which is within spitting distance to some heavy duty trucks.

Quick Specs
The 2016 Ford F-250 Super Duty is the last year for the heavy duty line before it switches to an aluminum body, like the F-150. It'll share more common parts with the F-150 too, so this is the last heavy-hauler's hurrah in some regards.
7.6
The 2016 Toyota Tundra has authentic truck talent, but ultimately its powertrain choices, fuel economy, and configurations are limited, compared to domestic rivals.
