2020 Ford Mustang vs. Its Competition

2020 Ford Mustang 2.3 High Performance Package
Kirk Bell Kirk Bell Senior Editor

The Mustang has two natural competitors and a variety of others that might also be considered.

The Chevrolet Camaro is the closest rival.

It excels for steering and handling, but suffers from a cramped cabin that is hard to see out of.

The Dodge Challenger is the truest muscle car of the group.

While it focuses its attention on big-time power and straight-line speed, it can also turn a corner, just not like the Mustang or Camaro.

Its bigger cabin is more practical and it has a real rear seat.

The BMW 4-Series competes at a higher price, and is due for a redesign soon, as is the aging, V-6-powered Nissan 370Z.

The Subaru BRZ and the Toyota 86 twins are cheaper and have less power, but they offer sharp handling and lots of road feel.
