2017 Ford F-150 vs. Its Competition

The Ford F-150 is most commonly compared to the General Motors twins—Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500—although it seems like neither brand is winning over each others' customers, rather just holding their own ground.

The next-generation Ram 1500 is due within a couple years and the automaker has already said it'll have a diesel and hybrid powertrain.

The Toyota Tundra and Nissan Titan are both distant competitors, although the Toyota has the automaker's name for reliability and the Titan has a more extensive warranty to tempt Ford defectors.

Quick Specs
The 2017 Ford F-150 is a solid nudge forward with a new transmission and top-trim engine this year, also nudging forward: its overall price.
The 2017 Chevrolet Silverado is a straightforward, good-looking pickup that'll work in nearly every circumstance, with any outfit. It's the buzz cut of full-size trucks.
Ruggedly handsome, the 2017 GMC Sierra gains some nice safety tech for 2017 and remains one of the most desirable big pickups.
With pleasant road manners and plenty of power, the light-duty 2017 Nissan Titan can compete head-to-head with the big guys now, while the Titan XD is for those who need to tow but don't want a full-on heavy duty truck.
The Toyota Tundra delivers authentic truck talent, but it feels like a weak effort against its rivals.
The 2017 Ram 1500 can hold its own among the Detroit Three thanks to a good powertrain lineup and smart lineup additions.
