2015 Ford F-150 vs. Its Competition

The full-size pickup market is well-established, and equally well divided along brand lines.

For those willing to consider trucks on their merits rather than their marques, however, there are good reasons to pick any of the alternatives.

The Tundra was recently updated with a new exterior look and a much-needed set of interior upgrades, and is the only J2807-certified pickup.

Chevy's Silverado is all-new for the 2014 model year, with efficient new engines, a fresh new look, and upgraded interior design.

GMC's Sierra is largely a doppelganger to the Silverado, but with higher-quality interior materials in top-level trims.

The Ram 1500 is the only non-heavy-duty full-size pickup to offer a diesel engine, and for now, it has the highest highway fuel economy ratings of any pickup truck sold in America.

Quick Specs
The 2015 Ford F-150 delivers on the promise of better utility through light weight; fuel economy is still left undecided.
The 2015 Chevrolet Silverado continues with a serious face, impressive powertrain options, a comfortable and refined interior, and the right mix of technology.
The 2015 GMC Sierra is a great pickup that offers simple and powerful engines, easy-to-use infotainment, and inoffensive styling inside and out.
The 2015 Toyota Tundra looks interesting enough, but lacks the sophisticated drivetrains that you'll find in its competitors.
The 2015 Ram 1500 is a half-ton favorite, with fuel economy and ride comfort being its main strengths once again.
