2023 Chevrolet Colorado vs. Its Competition

Where the Colorado goes the Canyon follows—same for rivers as for mid-size pickup trucks.

The last redesign for the GM twins came in 2015, so the Canyon will feel notably outdated until GM announces its imminent redesign.

The segment-leading Toyota Tacoma doesn’t care much about its age, with its proven performance and durable reputation dwarfing its dated interior and technology.

It’s due for a redesign, as is the Ford Ranger, which will come with a Raptor performance model and quite possibly a Lightning electric variant.

The freshest of the bunch is the Nissan Frontier with a more assertive look, modern tech, upgraded suspension, yet enough of that old-school vibe to still appeal to traditionalists.

The Honda Ridgeline rolls on as the crossover SUV with a bed, but large enough to keep its distance from the smaller Ford Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruz.
