The Chevrolet Bolt EV remains one of the best ways to obtain a long driving range for a relatively affordable price.
But it’s certainly not the only one in this crowd.
The Nissan Leaf boasts up to 226 miles of range in Leaf Plus form.
The Hyundai Kona Electric rates 258 miles and is nimble and refined, with an especially space-efficient interior.
Another alternative is the Kia Niro EV, rated at 239 miles, with a somewhat larger interior and quieter ride.
All of these vehicles are priced in the same range—nearing $40,000, before considering the federal EV tax credit and other incentives.
The Tesla Model 3 is the strongest seller of the group, and in Standard Range Plus guise it goes about 250 miles for a little bit over $40,000.
