2010 Chevrolet Avalanche vs. Its Competition

2010 Chevrolet Avalanche
Martin Padgett Martin Padgett Editorial Director

The 2010 Chevy Avalanche offers a rare combination of six-passenger comfort and an eight-foot pickup bed when you need it (though not at the same time).

The Cadillac Escalade EXT is structurally identical to the Avalanche but carries a stiff luxury premium.

The Honda Ridgeline is a cheaper choice, but not by much-and the light-duty truck only has a short pickup bed, offering no flexibility with cabin and bed space.

The Ford F-150 and Dodge Ram both come in four-door versions with fixed beds and fixed rear seats, but often at a much lower base price than the highly featured Avalanche.

Quick Specs
The 2010 Chevrolet Avalanche flexes its midsection to show off a versatile Midgate, but you'll notice its luxe features and nicely trimmed cabin, too.
The Ford F-150 is a solid truck that is due for its 2009 model makeover, but it’s good enough that it may be all the truck you need or want.
The 2008 Honda Ridgeline is a flexible light-duty truck with a plush feel, but it can't tackle all the tasks a full-size truck does well.
