2017 Cadillac CTS vs. Its Competition

2017 Cadillac CTS
Aaron Cole Aaron Cole Managing Editor

The 2017 Cadillac CTS has climbed the figurative mountain of mid-size luxury sedans (we wouldn't suggest literally climbing a mountain, even with all-wheel drive) that includes Germany's finest.

An all-new Mercedes-Benz E-Class this year is the stiffest challenge, and we prefer its looks over the Caddy.

An all-new A6 and 5-Series are likely on their way, but for now the CTS gives the pair a run on price, looks, and performance.

The Lexus is a softer ride, even in F Sport trim, and the CT6 is even softer.

If you're looking for passenger space and cargo room, the Lexus and CT6 could crest the CTS in terms of usability.

Quick Specs
The 2017 Cadillac CTS should be on any shoppers short list for mid-size luxury
The 2017 Audi A6 is a stellar mid-size luxury sedan; it's a bit sedate, but still good enough to compete with some flagship vehicles from other brands.
The 2017 Cadillac CT6 has a spare, light appeal that runs counter to its German rivals; with a starting price in the $50,000s, it's a great value, too.
With the 2017 E-Class, Mercedes-Benz is pushing the boundaries of its autonomous driving technology, and backing it up with S-Class style.
The 2016 BMW 5-Series lineup keeps its classic sport-sedan essence but gives you a whole lot of choices—including a limo-like Gran Turismo.
