While the outgoing Buick LaCrosse didn't make much sense up against the Chevrolet Impala, this latest model moves to a new platform that rides and handles much better.
It may lack the interior refinement of the Lexus ES 350, but the LaCrosse is quite a bit cheaper and, frankly, is a little more polished to drive.
The Nissan Maxima also comes up short inside but offers a personality of its own, and the Toyota Avalon remains a fierce competitor in terms of both value and style.
