2015 Buick Lacrosse vs. Its Competition

2015 Buick LaCrosse
Martin Padgett Martin Padgett Editorial Director

The 2015 Buick LaCrosse sits in the gray area between mid-size and full-size sedan, and somewhere between mainstream and luxury cars, too.

There's reason to believe that the upcoming Acura TLX sedan will make for an interesting alternative, though we haven't yet had the chance to drive it.

The 2015 Hyundai Genesis has made the leap into legitimate luxury, but maintains its edge in pricing and value.

There's also the Chevy Impala, a close relative to the LaCrosse, but it lacks some of the Buick's upscale materials.

However, the Impala does offer a four-cylinder engine for those shopping for absolute value.

There's more of a focus on performance on the Nissan Maxima, though it's slightly smaller than the Buick.

And, the Lexus ES now offers both gas-only and hybrid flavors, and is the best-looking sedan Lexus builds--and it's even become more interesting to drive, too.

None of these models are as fuel-efficient as the LaCrosse, except for the Lexus ES 300h, a hybrid model that achieves 40 mpg city, 39 highway.
