2018 Buick Enclave vs. Its Competition

2018 Buick Enclave
Martin Padgett Martin Padgett Editorial Director

The new Buick Enclave will need its lissome shape and its light-footed handling to compete against its main rivals.

The Acura MDX and Honda Pilot have excellent packaging, lots of nifty functional touches—and the MDX has a Sport Hybrid companion with very good fuel economy.

The Infiniti QX60 has interesting rear styling, but dullsville performance and a less convincingly finished interior.

The Mazda CX-9 blows away the brand’s inexpensive reputation with its fine finishes, but it’s not truly quick, and its accommodations are not truly spacious.

Finally, think about the Enclave as a rival for the Chrysler Pacifica; minus the sliding side doors, the two trade blows in styling, acceleration, and safety features, though the Pacifica has fold-away seats, sliding side doors, and a plug-in hybrid in its checklist.
