2022 Audi E-Tron vs. Its Competition

2022 Audi E-Tron S SUV and Sportback
Bengt Halvorson Bengt Halvorson Senior Editor

The E-Tron SUV and Sportback offer a truly family-sized interior, an excellent set of features, and an all-electric powertrain with 200 miles or more of real-world driving capability.

The BMW iX is sized closely with the E-Tron and has the same five-passenger layout—albeit with a quirky look not everyone will warm up to.

The Tesla Model X offers much more driving range, and it performs better, but has a quirky and dated feel to the interior, although a revamped version is arriving soon.

We’d probably also add the Tesla Model Y as a lower-priced alternative, although it’s even farther from the luxury-grade experience offered by the E-Tron.

The Jaguar I-Pace delivers strong performance, a distinctive look, and possibly a bit more range, but it’s a much smaller, more cramped vehicle.

Another alternative for big families is the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid which has three rows of seating, offers 32 all-electric miles, and feels like it wears a luxury badge.
