In the larger luxury sedan segment, there are no bad options.
In most instances, it merely comes down to what the buyer prefers in terms of style, feel, and brand image.
The BMW 5-Series, for instance, offers similar performance and gas mileage to the A6, though wrapped in a much different package in terms of appearance and, consequently, image.
The Mercedes-Benz E Class is likewise a very similar car in configuration, though it lacks some of the higher-tech infotainment options found in the A6, replacing them with even more high-tech driver assistance features, a Mercedes-Benz hallmark.
The 2015 Cadillac CTS is something of the outlier here, being the non-European offering, but from materials quality to performance, the CTS matches the competition on all fronts; again, however, image and feel are the determining factors.
