There has already been a torrent of negative comments on the new Corvette. It's edgy, almost comic book appearance, might not measure up to the smooth, flowing, functional beauty of the SRT Viper on a first take, but let's give it time to soak in first. Let's face it, compaired to the ungainly last generation, it's much more balanced and distinctive. I'm sure the performance will be right up there with the Viper and the comparisons sure to be made between the two as to which one is the best American sports car, will improve both and excite the Chevy and MoPar crowd.
I'm sure this Corvette will have some negitive detractors, but just think how great it is to have the chance to actually choose between two fantastic cars, Viper and Vette.

The '67 Stingray had a 427 that gave us 430 hp.
47 years later the new Stingray's pushrod 427 motor produces 450 hp.
Is GM in that bad of shape?
All new truck motors that just happen to be the same sizes as the previous generation.?
    Who are you fool'in.

Wrenchead, keep in mind that the '67 Stingray didn't have to worry about things like emission control, nor did it deliver anywhere close to 26 mpg.

Truly wretched. A little bit of this, a little bit of that… none of it working together. Corvette + Cadillac + Mitsubishi + Ferrari + Nissan GTR + Ford Probe = tasteless, tacky design.
