Someone should tell the author of the article that there's no such thing as a five-door car. IT'S A HATCHBACK.

@ModernMode, I'm the author. When a manufacturer calls their car both a "five-door" and a "four-door hatchback," I'm inclined to do the same.

Five door is just the latest terminology for a four-door hatchback.

Enough with the 5 door car or 4 door hatch back or mini station wagon. How does it compare with the the Honda Fit or Toyota Matrix. $14K is a great price for a 5 door car - but with $18K wouldn't I get a better deal with a Nissan Rogue (base model)? And please do not comment on my grammar - spelling - nor exact wording or numbers. hint hint *** mr. modern mole** but would appreciate any advice on which is a better buy since I am shopping for a 5door car.

@Tuong, the 2012 Kia Rio is new from the ground up, while the Toyota Matrix is an aging design. The Fit is a nice car and one of Honda's most popular models; it is, in my opinion, noticeably smaller than the Kia Rio.

All three are sold and reliable choices, so my best advice would be to drive them back to back and figure out which model best fits your needs, expectations and budget.
