with a name like littlebadwolf i should be the last person to make fun of someone in the auto business called 'corolla', but perhaps it is short for escarolla, and he's in the soup already.

Why is this ugly moron still relevant?

The title is misleading. Nice way to attract readers though. He said the LGBTQ ruined his life not all gays and plus hes commenting on the outrageous demand for Bert and Ernie to get married on seasme street. If he tells PETA to shut up, he doesn't mean all pet lovers.

  • john_v avatar John Posted: 8/25/2011 6:13am PDT

Help me understand the point you're attempting to make: What's the difference between what you call "the LGBTQ" and "all gays"?

  • fb_100004323670184 avatar Harry Posted: 6/18/2013 5:16am PDT

It's sort of the difference between "The GOP" and 'all southerners.'

Adam, your a hose. ShutUp and take it like a man.

  • jeep avatar jeep Posted: 8/18/2011 4:43pm PDT

Good for him! I am sick to death of gays demanding respect instead of earning it like the rest of us. They threaten sponsers with boycotts, much like Jesse Jackson'MO. He is entitled to his opinion regardless whether the rest of us like it or not.

  • fb_579789275 avatar JL Posted: 8/22/2011 7:57am PDT

Get real. Making fun of a minority community just doesn't cut it anymore. I am an executive, and a car freak and a tax payer. I dont want shows that exploit anymore. Its OLD.

  • fb_100000407824738 avatar fb_100000407824738 Posted: 8/18/2011 10:34pm PDT

Who is "the rest of us"? If you're talking about heterosexuals, please tell us how heterosexuals have had to "earn" respect from gays?

  • fb_1224815454 avatar Jim Posted: 8/18/2011 3:49pm PDT

Just inappropriate, but it won't kill The Car Show. Carolla and the producers will do that. Only the guy from the WSJ is a legitimate car guy. The others are frivolous hanger on types. John Sally is a great athlete, but he clearly is out of the water, an attempt to add diversity. The show just rots.

  • fb_504839243 avatar Randy Posted: 8/18/2011 4:55am PDT

As a gay man and an automotive blogger, I'm torn between Carolla's rants and his support of the LGBT community through the NOH8 campaign and other statements he made. If this is truly how he feels, and thinks he could use the excuse of comedy to do so, Carolla must be reminded that he cannot have it both ways.

Then again, Jeremy Clarkson (Top Gear), Adam Ferrara (Top Gear USA) and Kevin Hart made homophobic statements - from the slight to the overt. Obviously, they're still going...

Personally, I have not a fan of Carolla dating back to his KROQ/MTV days with Dr Drew. He wasn't funny then - remains unfunny now. As for Speed, since they're owned by FOX, it would not surprise me if they retained him.

He's also doing his podcast every day now. I loved it when it first came out (stories from his life) but he's obviously running out of ideas and I can't listen to this new crap for more than 5 minutes.

  • supercharged avatar supercharged Posted: 8/17/2011 4:29am PDT

Agree or disagree with what he said (I disagree), we do live in a free country. If you don't like what he said simply don't watch his show. It's called a pubicity stunt to get his name in the news and guess what folks....mission accomplished. Cancel his show, not likely...watch ratings spike if only for a short while, you better believe it.

  • fb_535830066 avatar Nikki Posted: 8/17/2011 12:58am PDT

Mr. Carolla wouldn't be allowed to make that kind of comment about people of color, nor about any other ethinicity or religion.

So why gender? Or Sexuality (which of course, are two different and distinct issues)

Free speech is a given right. Hatred is not.

I appreciate your lifestyle choice, Mr. Carolla - but please don't force your world views on everyone else, or expect me to listen.

    Pot. Kettle. Black.

  • fb_100004323670184 avatar Harry Posted: 6/18/2013 5:13am PDT

You've obviously never heard his podcast. He speaks candidly about everyone, white...black...hispanic..gay..doesn't matter. If he singled out one group, I'd call him a racist or a homophobe..but what do you call it when someone speaks out against all the ridiculous things everyone does?

  • larry300 avatar larry300 Posted: 8/16/2011 2:32pm PDT

While the statements are completely out of the line, his basic idea is in line with a good portion of people who don't really care about what goes on in the "alternative" communities and want their definition of life to stay as it is. Will there be consequences for the show and Carolla? Yes, he will most likely be forced to apologize by the media, however insincere since it was an opinion, and sponsors might be intimidated to leave, but he also gets considerable publicity as well.

  • marty avatar Marty Posted: 8/16/2011 8:54pm PDT

Larry, while he's entitled to an opinion that is the opposite of mine, he's not getting a free pass when he tries to make the rest of us feel sorry for him, or when he makes a paper-thin apology. I think most of my LGBT friends would agree that there's no "alternative" to living truthfully, peacefully gay, and he could at least respect that.

  • fb_82100996 avatar Richard Posted: 8/16/2011 1:32pm PDT

He is a pathetic, hateful loser. Life this hateful must be lonely.

  • fb_1001015277 avatar John Posted: 8/16/2011 1:27pm PDT

Small confession here, I have a relative dating a trans-person and it makes my head hurt a little too. Give me a nice simple gay or lesbian couple any day. That I think I understand. That said, I don't think telling people to "shut up" about such things is particularly helpful.

  • fb_636251774 avatar David Posted: 8/16/2011 12:09pm PDT

There's no place for this vileness in today's society. Carolla is entitled to his personal opinion of course, but if this is truly how he feels, he should be dismissed from public life forthwith. On the other hand, one might ask him if he doesn't find the closet a dark and lonely place.
