Hit and run.....that's a good point. Those feel they are at fault & guilty will definitly took off. They sound our income tax didn't paid them and they want ot get pay per case.
I think that's a good idea that "you pay for the service you use." However,I never have an accident and I have been paying the tax for police/FDNY for over 10 year, I should get a refund for being a good resident......but one day if I was in a accident....I will refuse to get help because I simply don;t have $450 to pay!!! That's my one week pay check before tax!!! Our Mayor is insame!!!!
BTW....our Mayor's asset have grow from few billions to over 10 billion during his term as a Mayor who keep emphasize that he only tak "$1" a year. That's BS. He get much more from contracting city job/MTA. He approval a great raise for NYPD that cost the city 50 millions a year & now he can't take 1.5millions form that to help out the fellow FDNY.
And did anyone remember the ugly useless water falls that cost 80 millions dollars!!!!! Why are we calling our self democracy if he can by pass the city council & new yorker.......I'm speechless on why wasn't anyone speaks out about this!!!!

This tax is a big rip off by the mayor. The fire department is payed by us tax payers to start with. If I have an accident in the city limits and I didn't call for the F.D.N.Y. why should I have to pay? These is just another shell game by that idiot mayor. You remember the one that change the rules of how many years you can be mayor. If it goes though we in the (5) boroughs should scream for a big tax break.

Toledo, OH. has tried the same thing with a good chance of abuse! These services are already paid for via our taxes! Will we see a tax "roll back"? Very highly doubtful!!! This is just ONE BIG RIP OFF by the government!
