Based on what might happen to the Element. Do you have any indications on the future of the Ridgeline? If Honda decides to pull the plug on the Ridgeline for 2012, how long will they continue to produce the 2011 models?

This old thing still sells competitively against thew newer boxy models such as xB & Cube so it should stick around. Perhaps make it more competitive against the Soul, however ...

What stopped people from buying it was the horrible black fenders that made it look like it didn't finish the paint job! The SC was a god step and a larger more powerful engine might have made it unique - but Honda always underpowers every single model against the competition, as if their reputation alone will sell cars. Give me the Element SC with an accord or Civic Si engine and I'd buy two.

I have the first year Element and love everything about it. Going strong after 135,000 miles. What I always noticed was it was NEVER on sale like others and never featured and often left off of print advertising when the whole Honda line was shown. What comes first, the lack of pushing sales or sales being lousy and vehicle is dropped? That is my version of the chicken and the egg. Might buy one of the last ones or just go for the more conventional SUV or stop being a Honda owner. Too bad.

Not updating it even once (more than cosmetic) may have played a role ... I for one was set on buying an updated model that now obviously isn't coming. Sad, Honda really dropped the ball on this model ... sorta reminds me of how GM screwed the Saturn brand.

I'm sorry to hear about Honda's decision. I bought my 04 Element new and now have 95,000+ miles and I won't trade it for another vehicle until necessary. It is dependable, functional and fun to drive. The 4wheel drive helps in bad weather and I have used mine for family trips all over the East Coast and also for hauling pets, cargo, shrubbery, funiture...anything. I was hoping to buy another one in a couple of years, but I guess I will have to keep this one ASAP! I'm sure the lack of advertizing it has hurt it's sales...poor choice Honda for letting the Element go away.
