    "The Camry is not obsolete"

If you like Nav., leather, and all the trimmings, the 2009 Camry Hybrid is only a few hundred over the 2009 Camry XLE with very similar options. For that difference you get 35 miles per gallon vs. low 20s.
I have driven a Fusion Hybrid. The ride, feel, acceleration and overall quality is not equal to the Camry. My head touches the ceiling in the back seat of the Fusion, not the Camry. I would rather have a comfortable car that gets 35 to 40 MPG than a less comfortable one that gets 2 to 8 more miles per gallon.
Yes, Toyota should work on increasing the speed at which the electric engine runs exclusively to that of the Fusion, but to say the Camry is obsolete is ridiculous.

    "Camry is a joke"

Camry is left out of the discussion because its performance is a joke. It gets what, half mpg's of the prius? The funny part is that poor performance coupled with being the same powertrain shows just how insignificant hybrid tech is - the prius gets its numbers from low drag, relatively low weight, and borderline dangerously low traction tires. Toyo could build a prius without the hybrid components of the powerplant and would still get 80-90% of the mpg.

    "Poor Camry..."

...it's like the Jan Brady of the hybrid world. One day, Jan. One day....

    "Camry hybrid anyone?"

While people are fighting over these two compacts and Fusion is just an overpriced no show, Camry hybrid offers a solid choice at a nice discount.
